On emplacement of compositionally heterogeneous pegmatite melts: petrogenetic implications

Abstract

The paper is devoted to the problem of chemical heterogeneity of pegmatite melts at the stage of their intrusion. Petrogenetic consequences of emplacement of compositionally heterogeneous melts are considered in the terms of some disputable issues including interrelation between pegmatites and granites, zonation of pegmatite fi elds and vein swarms, inner structure of pegmatite bodies, as well as modes of pocket formation.
