The tropical breezes are mesoscale mechanisms that when mechanism related to large scales the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) and frontal systems cause rains concentrated on the coast of the Metropolitan Regionof Recife (MRR)during the winter. These weather phenomena when act in areas at risk of hills in towns causing accumulation of rainfall and lands lides, often causing deaths. The research aims to study thedistributionofhourlyrainfallbetweenthe years 2000and 2007in the cityof Recife, seeking correlations with its main formation mechanism. Tothis end, weuseddata from therain gaugeandrain gauge charts station Recife/Afogados, which were validatedby comparingthem. The pluviograms were scanned and were constructed graphs comparing the total annual precipitation from rain gauge charts with the rain gauge and proved satisfactory as it had errors of less than 5%. Thus, from these data were generated graphics frequency of events per time band for each day of the year analysis. Thetime of daywith the highestintensityof rainfall was between 11:00 PM and 7:00 AM and the time interval over which records rainfall occurred was between 6:00AM and 7:00 AM. It was concluded that the land breezes collaborate to precipitation in the Recife City since the rainfall events are concentrated between night (mostly night) and early morning, the day phase in which this mechanism acts more intensely.
