Biogeography, when studying the distribution of living beings, provides information about the ecological and evolutionary processes that occur in a given ecosystem, highlighting its biodiversity, such as social wasps (Vespidae: Polistinae), which have several genera widely distributed throughout the Brazilian territory, among them Parachartergus Ihering, 1904. Therefore, the objective of this study is to analyze the biogeography of the species of this genus cataloged in the state of Minas Gerais, Brazil, in addition to recording the second occurrence of P. wagneri in the state. The occurrences of four species in the state were identified and mapped: P. fraternus, P. pseudapicalis, P. smithii and P. wagneri through data from bibliographic surveys and the geospatial information was processed in the QGIS software. The results indicate a heterogeneous distribution of the species, with a greater concentration in the southern region of Minas Gerais and in the Atlantic Forest biome. P. fraternus was the species with the largest geographic range, while P. wagneri had the most restricted distribution. This work highlights the importance of biogeographic studies for understanding biodiversity and species conservation.
