GIVING NEW MEANING TO SELF CARE IN NURSING: PERCEPTIONS OF A TEAM

Resumo


Objective: the goal of study was know and identify the factors that interfere with self-care process and raise the appointments of professional staff on personal and professional strategies to stimulate their care. Method: a qualitative study, exploratory and descriptive field, directed to 10 nursing professionals. Semi-structured interviews were carried out and the analyses by thematic analysis. The study followed the ethical precepts of Resolution 466/12, being adopted in the opinion of 1.216.976 September 7, 2015. Results: it was noted the existence of deficits concerning the exercise of individual care associated with personal processes and work, such as lack of time, self-medication, relaxation, accumulation of days, work overload. Conclusion: the conclusion was the need for raising awareness among professionals and managers on actions that encourage the group to self-care culture, since the lack of care, impacting negatively on the quality of care provided to the clientele.
