SOBRE QUINTAS, FAZENDAS E PLANTADORES DE CAJÚ: ESTADO E AGRICULTURA FAMILIAR NA PRODUÇÃO DA REGIÃO DO CAJU CEARENSE
Abstract
Este ensaio constitui um exercício de aproximação da categoria agricultura familiar. A articulação trabalho familiar e propriedade da terra ao tempo que se destaca como característica central dessa categoria, também representa um aspecto que a torna genérica, devido à diversidade de formas sociais e situações específicas que a agricultura familiar assume no tempo e no espaço. Investigar os fatores que explicam o dinamismo econômico da agricultura familiar ou analisar os mecanismos de seu “equilíbrio” precário e instável de reprodução? Essas são duas perspectivas de abordagem dessa temática. Ainda com o intuito de problematizar essa categoria, retomamos um estudo sobre a agricultura do caju, realizado no final dos anos 90 em Cascavel, Estado do Ceará, focalizando, através da discussão do papel do Estado e dos produtores familiares de castanha (“plantadores de caju”), o processo de expansão desse sistema produtivo e seus principais dilemas de reestruturação.
