GÊNESE E ASPECTOS LITOESTRATIGRÁFICOS DO SALTINHO SANTO ANTÔNIO/INDIANÓPOLIS-MG: REFLETINDO SOBRE SEU POTENCIAL GEOTURÍSTICO

Abstract

O objetivo deste artigo é caracterizar o Saltinho Santo Antônio situado no município de Indianópolis-MG quanto a sua gênese e aspectos litoestratigráficos, bem como analisar o seu potencial geoturístico. Foi desenvolvido através de fundamentação teórica pertinente ao tema, de trabalhos de campo na área de estudo e trabalhos de gabinete. Este estudo surgiu da premente necessidade de realizar pesquisas que busquem inventariar, divulgar e conservar aspectos da geodiversidade, sendo o geoturismo um dos meios utilizados para se atingir tal finalidade. Indianópolis está localizado no Triângulo Mineiro, apresentando uma quantidade expressiva de quedas d’água que podem, se bem planejadas, ser exploradas pelo geoturismo, como é o caso do Saltinho Santo Antônio. Esta queda d’água, através das suas diferentes litoestratigrafias, permite uma volta ao passado, conhecendo eras e ambientes distintos, uma vez que as rochas são testemunhas da história da evolução do planeta Terra que precisa ser divulgada e conservada para as gerações atuais e futuras.
