The work deals with the differences between two significant moments in the migratory journey of the Warao indigenous people, whose traditional lands are located in the territory currently encompassed by Venezuela, in the Orinoco River delta. In their process of mobilization, unfolding from Venezuelan colonization and modernization, the first moment of intensified migration began in 1960 and was marked by interventions in the delta that drastically disrupted the old conditions of social reproduction for these indigenous people, who began to migrate to urban spaces in Venezuela; the second responded to the crisis in Venezuela, which worsened in 2014, and produced migrations to urban spaces in various South American countries, including Brazil. The aim is to reflect on the temporal dynamics of urbanization based on the observable changes between these two migratory journeys.
