On the need to start teaching / learning of statistics and probability in childhood

The teaching of Statistics and Probability and even Stochastic is recommended by the PCN from the early years of schooling. In many countries this is already a reality, but in Brazil, despite the regulation for this to occur has been performed almost two decades, the reality has shown that little or almost nothing was done. The reasons lie mainly in the lack of teacher training, since the curriculum guidelines of mathematics courses, not forthis content. So there is an unusual situation where the law on the one hand, determines that the teaching of these contents should be done from the earliest years of schooling, but on the other hand, this is not mandatory for teachers who have to do itReferences
