This research aims to identify the level of adoption, use and satisfaction concerning the practices of management accounting. Is a pilot study, applied in the companies affiliated to the SINDIMETAL, located at the Southest of Paraná State, Brazil. The study utilizes the IFAC’s classification to evaluate the evolutionary stage of managerial practices. The analysis suggests that, in general, managerial accounting practices are little known and used. Except for mid-sized companies, the companies shows interest in adopting them in the future. When analyzed per size and practices are grouped, the results suggest that most of the companies – regardless of size – may be classified in evolutionary stages 1 and 2, according to IFAC’s classification.Downloads
