O Evangelho segundo Saramago: uma leitura do simbolismo e do imaginário cristão medieval em Levantado do Chão
Resumo
Resumo: O presente trabalho procura investigar a releitura do simbolismo e do imaginário cristão medieval realizada por José Saramago em seu romance ‘Levantado do chão’. A presença desse discurso religioso no romance se dá tanto pela referência do autor às figuras bíblicas, tais como Eva e o próprio Cristo, quanto pela presença de animais simbólicos cuja referência é a própria bíblia e, principalmente, os tradicionais bestiários da Idade Média. Nessa investigação, pretende-se considerar qual a relação entre a presença desse discurso religioso e a proposta marxista do romance. Assim, poder-se-á perceber se a releitura desse universo bíblico pretende reiterar os valores do cristianismo ocidental ou se, pelo contrário, há um questionamento irônico desses mesmos valores a serviço da proposta marxista do romance.

Abstract: This project searches to investigate a rereading of the symbolism and medieval imaginary christian done by Jose Saramago in his novel Lifting from the ground. This religious speech in a novel happens by the interference of the author to biblical figures, such as Eva and the Christ himself, as far of the presence of symbolic animals whose reference is the bible by itself and, mainly, the traditional bestialities of Medieval Age. In the investigation, it intends to consider which is the relationship between presence of this religious speech and a marxist purpose of the novel. So, it will be seen if the rereading of this universe intends to reiterate the values of the western christianism or if, on te contrary, it exists a ironic questioning these values to the service of the marxist proposition novel.
