UBUNTU E TRANSFORMAÇÕES NECESSÁRIAS NA EVOLUÇÃO DAS DECLARAÇÕES DE PRINCÍPIOS ÉTICOS DA IFSW

Este artigo explora a necessidade de mudanças transformacionais nos princípios éticos da profissão de assistente social, particularmente à luz da influência emergente da filosofia africana Ubuntu. Os autores argumentam que os princípios éticos atuais da Federação Internacional de Assistentes Sociais (IFSW) e da Associação Internacional de Escolas de Serviço Social (IASSW) ainda são amplamente fundamentados na visão de mundo pré-século XX da ciência ocidental, que prioriza o individualismo e uma visão dividida da realidade. Os autores propõem que o serviço social deve adotar uma abordagem mais holística, interconectada e centrada no relacionamento, conforme refletido no Ubuntu e em outras filosofias indígenas. O artigo descreve áreas específicas onde os princípios éticos devem ser atualizados, incluindo o reconhecimento dos direitos humanos e responsabilidades, o direito à co-determinação, à promoção do empoderamento participativo e a ênfase na justiça social e econômica. Os autores também sugerem que o serviço social deve se alinhar mais de perto com a Carta da Terra e os Objetivos de Desenvolvimento Sustentável das Nações Unidas, ao mesmo tempo em que adota uma abordagem regenerativa e restaurativa para o desenvolvimento. As mudanças propostas visam transformar o trabalho social em uma profissão verdadeiramente global, mais bem equipada para lidar com os desafios complexos do século XXI.
