Abstract

Éva David é formada em História da Arte e Arqueologia pela Universidade de Paris I Panthéon-Sorbonne, defendendo a tese de doutorado em 1999 na Universidade de Paris X Nanterre em Sociologia Comparada e Etnologia. Trabalha desde 2003 no Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique (CNRS) onde integra o laboratório 7194 do Muséum National d’Histoire Naturelle. Tecnóloga óssea, ela conduz pesquisas em Pré-História sobre as técnicas aplicadas a matéria dura de origem animal, como osso, chifre, dentes, marfim e conchas para fabricação, encabamento e decoração de armas, ferramentas e adornos. Desenvolveu pesquisas em vários países do Norte da Europa, desde a Inglaterra até a Rússia, principalmente na Letônia e Estônia, onde coordenou projetos em sítios habitacionais e funerários entre 2001 e 2004. Desde de 2019 ela coordena uma coleção de obras intitulada Anthropologie des Techniques publicada pela Éditions L’Harmattan. Como membro da Union Internationale des Sciences Préhistoriques et Protohistoriques (UISPP), lidera desde 2017 a Commission Modified Bone & Shell, que promove conferências, cujos anais são publicados sob a forma de trabalhos temáticos sobre a indústria óssea
