Dossiê temático: Teoria da literatura e história intelectual

Pela natureza da vida intelectual no Ocidente, uma História Intelectual necessariamente passa pela história da escrita e pela história do texto, das interpretações. O que torna fácil visualizar o âmbito de encontro entre os campos da teoria da literatura e da história intelectual. Todavia, boa parte da crítica e da teoria no campo dos Estudos literários permanece, de maneira mais ou menos consciente, apoiada sobre o conceito tradicional de uma história das ideias, que reduz a linguagem à sua função referencial, tomando as “ideias” como representações da realidade. Fazemos, por meio desse dossiê, um convite aos pesquisadores que se proponham a discutir problemas de teoria, história e crítica literária em diálogo com os problemas levantados pela recente historiografia que se dedica à análise dos itinerários, redes, estruturas de sociabilidade e hierarquias intelectuais e que se mostrem relevantes para a compreensão histórica e crítica da literatura e das artes em geral. Estamos abertos a receber textos que contribuam para uma reflexão sobre as práticas discursivas, que intrincadas e problemáticas, conformam ao mesmo tempo em que dispersam as noções de culturas de elite, cultura popular e cultura de massa e que, por isso, permitem uma articulação produtiva com a história social e cultural.

Call for papers for the coming issue of Eutomia

Thematic dossier: Literary theory and intellectual history

In conformity with the nature of intellectual life in the West, an intellectual history necessarily entails the history of writing and the history of text, of interpretations, which makes it easy to visualize the scope of the encounter between the fields of literary theory and intellectual history. However, most literary criticism and theory in the field of literary studies remain, in a nearly conscious fashion, based upon a traditional concept of the history of ideas, which maintain language within the limits of its referential function, considering "ideas" as representations of reality. Through this thematic dossier, we welcome contributions from researchers who propose to discuss issues related to theory, history and literary criticism in connection with those recently raised by recent historiography addressing itineraries, networks, structures of sociability and intellectual hierarchies, which can be relevant for the historical and critical understanding of literature and arts in general. We are open to receive texts contributing to a reflection on intricate and problematic discursive practices, which give form and, at the same time, disperse the notions of elite culture, popular and mass culture, hence enabling a productive articulation with social and cultural history.

The contributions can be submitted in Portuguese, English, French or Spanish.
