History of the Journal
Perspectiva Filosófica is the academic journal of the Graduate Program in Philosophy at UFPE. It has been undergoing an intense process of revitalizing its activities since March 2020 and is currently in the upper bracket of the Qualis evaluation (B1).
Perspectiva Filosófica turned 30 years in 2022 with publications that demonstrate its importance to the Brazilian philosophical and scientific community.
The journal's current editor-in-chief is Marcos Silva (UFPE/CNPq).
Every semester, the journal presents articles, translations and reviews by doctoral students, PhDs and professors from Brazilian and foreign universities.
It was founded in 1992 by the faculty of the Philosophy Department of UFPE, under the leadership of Professors Inácio Strieder and Washington Martins.
Perspectiva Filosófica publishes writings within any area of specialization in Philosophy, without prioritizing any period or theme; as announced by Professor Inácio Strieder, editor of the first issue of the journal: "We chose the title ‘Perspectiva Filosófica’ for this journal so that it would express a comprehensive philosophical discourse."
