Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The contribution must be original and unpublished.
  • Manuscripts must not be in the process of being evaluated for publication by another journal.
  • After approval for publication, the article must fully comply with the journal's standardization rules, available in Diretrizes para Autores.
  • URLs for references should be provided whenever possible.
  • If the article contains images, they must be submitted in .png or .jpg format and in separate files, that is, not inserted within the text itself, with a minimum resolution of 300 dpi. In the file corresponding to the text, the approximate location where figures, graphs, tables or similar should be inserted must be indicated by inserting captions (in the language of the article).
  • The online submission form must be filled out in full in section "3. INCLUSION OF METADATA", including in SECOND LANGUAGE, with: Full name, e-mail, ORCID, Institution/affiliation, country, biography summary, title, abstract and keywords.
  • At least one of the authors of the work must be a doctor or a doctoral student.

Author Guidelines

Guidelines for Authors

The Perspectiva Filosófica Journal publishes texts in the categories of articles, translations and reviews.
1. The issues of the Journal may consist of:
1.1. Texts on various subjects in the area of ​​philosophy, regardless of the categories. 1.2. Thematic dossier: composed of at least 05 unpublished articles on a common theme, organized by a guest editor or proposals submitted for analysis by the Editorial Committee.
1.3. Special issue: at least 08 unpublished articles on a common theme, organized by a guest editor, or proposals submitted for analysis by the Editorial Committee

2. The texts may be written in Portuguese, English, French, Spanish, Italian or German

3. The journal publishes only articles by PhDs and postgraduate students at the PhD level.

SUBMISSION RULES

1. About the categories of text accepted by the Journal:

1.1. Articles – new and consolidated research results.

1.2. Reviews – critical analysis of works published less than 4 years ago.

1.3. Translations – the number of words varies according to the source text. It is mandatory to send, as a supplementary document, authorization for eventual publication in the journal, dated and signed by the person who holds the copyright of the translated text. When authorization is given by electronic correspondence, a copy of the e-mail with the declaration must be sent.

2. Texts must be submitted in a single file, following the following formatting:

(a) Microsoft Word document, extension *.doc, *.docx., or LibreOffice, extension *.odt.

(b) Font: Trebuchet, size 12, either in titles or body of text. Size 11 in long direct quotations (indent 4cm). Size 10 in footnotes. Line spacing of 1.5.

(c) With tabs at the beginning of paragraphs (or, automatic tabs in paragraph style).

 (d) Page margins: 3 cm (left and right) and 2 cm (top and bottom). If the document includes images, they must not exceed the established margins.

3. Manuscripts must contain a title, abstract and keywords in the language of the text and in English (title, abstract, keywords). Keywords, minimum 4 (four) and maximum 6 (six), must be separated by a period.

4. To preserve blind review, the submitted text must be anonymized and not contain any references that could identify the author. Information such as name, academic affiliation, ORCID ID, among others, are entered in the online submission form and included, if the text receives a favorable opinion, in the publication. In cases of self-citation, notes and references must include XXXXX instead of the name of the author(s). Note: in case of direct submission to guest editors, it is mandatory to send a separate identification sheet, with the name of the author, affiliation and institution, email and ORCID.

5. Obtaining authorization to use images is the sole responsibility of the authors. Only for submission, figures, tables and graphs, in .png or .jpeg format, with their respective captions and numbers, must be inserted in the body of the text, not in attached files.

6. Bibliographic References: The texts consulted should be listed at the end of the article, according to the ABNT NBR 6023 standard.

7. Citations: must follow the ABNT 10520 standard (updated in 2023). Citation standards and conventions adopted by specific communities will be accepted and understood (applies to cases where paragraphs, aphorisms etc. are cited).

8. Texts received in accordance with the specifications above will be forwarded to reviewers appointed by members of the Editorial Board and the Scientific Board, in order to obtain an opinion regarding publication. Authors will be notified, first of all, of the receipt of the text submission and, subsequently, of the opinion, which may be accepted, rejected or subject to modifications.

9. Responsibility for personal information, grammatical and spelling corrections is the sole responsibility of the author, or the main author, in the case of co-authorship.
