Philosophy and Transgenderity: disobedient and dissident narratives
The concept of gender has been commonly used to define identities, roles, values, representations and symbolic attributes of what can be binarily considered feminine and masculine. A strategy to establish relations of cis-hetero-male dominance that crystallize the characteristics of what gender could be, fabricating its boundaries and inscribing dissident/ disobedient gender subjectivities in an armed war. This exposes the emergence of a redescription of the frontiers of the concept of gender itself, after all, as Paul Preciado states in I am the monster that speaks to you, the femininities or masculinities present socially are fabricated by “[...] the very history of normalization and submission to the dominant social and political codes of gender [...]”.
Based on this premise, instead of asking ourselves "what is gender?", we are asking "who is the subject of gender?", which is the focus of this issue of Revista Perspectiva Filosófica and invites researchers to submit their articles. With the aim of expanding narratives that break with the cis-hetero-norm in philosophy, the topics of interest include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Transfeminism
- Non-binarity
- Transmasculinities
- Performativity and Speech Acts
- Transvestite Technologies
- Queer Theory
- Spatiality and Territory
- Corporeality
- Normativity
The above topics can be articulated with the various areas of philosophy in order to promote a broader and more plural dialog along lines that include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Ontology
- Philosophy of Language
- Logic
- Philosophy of Art and Aesthetics
- Critical Philosophy
- Politics and Ethics
- Phenomenology and Existentialism
- Philosophical Anthropology
