A bibliographical review, an on-site visit to analyze the management of planting practices, application of a questionnaire and quantitative and qualitative analysis with reflections through Dardin content method were carried out. Soon, it was found that the transposition of the São Francisco River brought improvements to the place, but there is a lack of public policies to support routine activities, such as planting, means of selling the product after harvest and actions with presentations of new technologies. And finally, despite sustainable practices, there is still a high consumption of pesticides in plantations, which shows a lack of public policies to support the producer and concern for agroecological issues.
