Modelando inconsistências deônticas em dilemas morais

Resumo

Lógicas deônticas paraconsistentes foram propostas para lidar com paradoxos deônticos. Argumentamos que esses sistemas foram mal direcionados quando utilizados para resolver paradoxos deônticos que não surgem de inconsistências deônticas. Ainda que as soluções sejam um modo formalmente satisfatório de resolver os paradoxos, filosoficamente elas são insatisfatórias. Como exemplo, discutiremos como algumas lógicas deônticas paraconsistentes lidaram com o Paradoxo de Chisholm. Uma lógica deôntica paraconsistente deve ser utilizada para resolver paradoxos diretamente relacionados com inconsistência deôntica, como no caso de dilemas morais. Mostramos como algumas dessas lógicas podem modelar dilemas morais evitando trivialização. Consideramos, então, a viabilidade filosófica de seus tratamentos de dilemas morais. Argumentamos que DPI é um sistema que modela dilemas morais de uma maneira filosoficamente satisfatória. Oferecemos uma interpretação para o sistema, na qual lemos o operador ⊟ como formalizando situações não-dilemáticas. Discutimos as consequências filosóficas dessa interpretação.
