Qualidade da Água e Doenças Relacionadas ao Saneamento Ambiental Inadequado (DRSAI): uma Abordagem Perceptiva com os Moradores do Distrito Taquaruçu, Palmas (TO), Brasil (Water Quality and Inadequate Environmental Sanitation Related Diseases (IESRD)...)

O objetivo da pesquisa foi verificar os aspetos perceptivos de indivíduos sobre o uso da água e a relação desta com as Doenças Relacionadas ao Saneamento Ambiental Inadequado (DRSAI), em Taquaruçu, Palmas (TO). Considerou-se como sujeitos os cidadãos residentes há pelos menos cinco anos no distrito e como base teórica o modelo conceitual para estudos de campo em percepção ambiental de Whyte. Constatou-se que: há percepção da relação das DRSAI com o uso da água e de mudanças sensoriais na mesma; aspetos perceptivos da população contribuem para o sucesso de programas nacionais sobre qualidade da água para consumo evitando a contração dessas doenças; trabalhos educativos preventivos promoveriam mudanças positivas na escolha e comportamento dos indivíduos; e que a expansão da urbanização aumenta o impacto extensivo à saúde humana, as trocas de vulnerabilidade entre o urbano e o rural e os riscos socioambientais.

Water Quality and Inadequate Environmental Sanitation Related Diseases (IESRD): an Approach Perceptive with the Residents of the District Taquaruçu, Palmas (TO), Brazil
ABSTRACT
The goal of the survey was to check the perceptual aspects of individuals about the use of water and the relationship of this with the Inadequate Environmental Sanitation Related Diseases (IESRD), in Taquaruçu, Palmas (TO). It was considered as subject the citizens resident for at least five years in the district and as a theoretical basis the conceptual model for field studies on environmental perception of Whyte. It was noted that: there is perception of the relationship of IESRD with the use of water and sensory changes in it; perceptual aspects of population contribute to the success of national programs on the quality of water for consumption by avoiding the contraction of these diseases; preventive educational work in positive changes would boost choice and behavior of individuals; and that the expansion of urbanization increases the impact extends to human health, the trading of vulnerability between rural and urban and socio-environmental risks.
