How can critique deal with the current crisis? In this article, I discuss conditions and possibilities for critical theory and social critique to be more effectivein dealing with crises. I work with a concept of crisis that stresses the singularity of these moments and the conflicts between different interpretations and social reflexivities. I argue that critical theory must contribute to the understanding of the meaning that crisis takes in the present time, elucidating the logic between different tendencies, especially neoliberalism, globalization, and the Anthropocene, that undermine reflexive mechanisms early existent in capitalist economies and national states. In conclusion, I propose that against conservative theories of crisis and the threats to democratic forms of life, critique must be more cosmopolitan and needs the collaboration of the different reflexivities which come from citizens, scientists, and politicians to address institutions and rebuild them.References
