Mudança social, família patriarcal e emancipação feminina na Colômbia

Abstract

In  this  article  from  the  1990s,  the  author  explains  the  crisis  of  traditional patriarchalism.  This  occurs  because  of the  progress  in  women's  struggles  for  work  and the  freedom  to  live  their  sexuality  without  reproductive  commitments.  However,  the change  in  the  positions  occupied  by  men  and  women  in  the  home does  not  necessarily produce  a  more adequate  psycho-affective  climate  for  the  life  of  the  couple  and  for  the socialization  of  the  children.  The  change  of  agent  in  the  family's  economic  function  is associated with the growing instability of the family: unstable couple relationships, break-ups and repeated marriages (greater in men). The  change produces the breaking of the cultural chains that the family transmits and demands a reflection that leads to an action that clarifies and orders these crises of family relation but of global social transcendence.
