Beyond the Moon: science fiction as anthropocentric imagination or technological holism

The article elaborates a phenomenological analysis of the pos-sibilities of representation and projection of futures of humanity and of the planet, in the films of science fiction From reading of a text by Paul Ricoeur (1969), dated by the context of the hegemonic disputes for space travel to the moon, between the USA and the former URSS. In the text, the author elaborates and anticipates elements about interplanetary travel, in order to grasp the recursive logics by which technical civilization organiz-es and expands around the progressive struggle with nature, and the gener-ated risks, now projected into the cosmos. The analysis of sci-fi films shows sometimes a source of reflections on what a society considers worrying or relevant, sometimes the possibilities of real or virtual representation of the world. In the projections of fiction films, these concerns and representa-tions generate oscillations of an anthropocentric imagination centered on human perpetuation with the belief in technological holism.
