Giusy told me about the wines of the past and the present. He told of the wine since when it was made by his grandfather, from the vines grown in the black and fertile lands in the shade of the volcano. Wine once fermented in palm trees - old thing - which is now also made in stainless steel tanks. From the wine served in the metal jug to that multiplied in glass bottles. From the wine that is drunk at the table to what is circulating around the world.
Planting and cultivating vines, elaborating wine are activities that involve techniques of the remote past, now updated. Drink that was made predominantly with the hands, with the feet, with the movement of the bodies. But not everything is change; once ready, it is still liquid to be incorporated from the senses.
Scenarios help to perpetuate imaginaries around the ritualized making and drinking, the work of men and women, the annual harvest shared, a distant time recalled.
