Educational strategies in the pregnancy-puerperium cycle: convergent care research

Objective: to collectively restructure a project of educational strategies related to the pregnancy and postpartum cycle, with postpartum women and health professionals from a secondary care prenatal monitoring service. Method: Convergent care research with a qualitative approach. The data, collected through semi-structured interviews with 16 postpartum women and 9 health professionals, and discussion groups with 8t health professionals, were produced, interpreted using the theoretical concepts of problematizing pedagogy and complex thinking, and analyzed using content analysis. Results: Two categories were established: perceptions of postpartum women and health professionals about caring-educating in prenatal care and educational strategies in prenatal care: proposals for (re)construction. In the discussion with the group of professionals, the need to include active methodologies, digital technologies in educational processes, and interdisciplinary work emerged. Conclusion: The restructuring of the project of educational actions related to the pregnancy-postpartum cycle occurred based on action-reflection -action of the educational process in a participatory, dialogical, liberating, and problematizing conception, in a participatory, dialogical, liberating, and problematizing conception, with the potential to empower women to take an active stance during labor, delivery, and the postpartum period, aiming at autonomy in the context of birth and care for their newborn.
