Fourth meeting of stricto sensu graduate students in the northeast
Resumo
This special issue of REUOL represents another contribution to Brazilian nursing journal and, in particular, for its graduate programs.
In the spirit of cooperation and dissemination of academic nursing, the REUOL committed to publishing a special issue dedicated to the Fourth Meeting of Stricto Sensu Graduate Students in the Northeast, held in November 2009 in Natal city/RN.
Unable to publish all the papers, it was performed a professors’ committee from the graduate program in nursing, Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte (UFRN), involving the Journal’s Editor-in-Chief, to make the papers selection sent by authors for this purpose. We selected a total of fifteen items comprising broad and diverse topics, considering the different lines of research which structure the graduate programs. Likewise, multiple perspectives are also compatible with the methodological spectrum of approaches worked by nurses in each area and in its dialogue with health in general.
Despite the range of issues, the studies focus mainly the area of healthcare, encompassing both primary care and research in hospitals, as well as in regard to education and health education, including cultural aspects, the example of indigenous health in Brazil. Therefore, favor the site in conjunction with the overall strengthening of the Journal editorial proposal, namely to establish a capillary around the country and even abroad, thus contributing to the scientific growth of the profession and improvement of population health.
Publishing a special issue arising from an event held at the regional level, the result of a collective construction process, which also counted with the meaningful participation of graduate students from other states of the federation revealed the importance of the Journal. It also gives testimony to his commitment to the dissemination of knowledge that is being produced by Brazilian. Make it possible to access these multiple perspectives expressed in published texts represents a clear contribution to the debate about the health problems affecting in particular the Brazilian population.
The space opened by this journal therefore represents a significant contribution to the profession's growth and development of graduate studies in nursing in Brazil.
The Graduate Program in Nursing UFRN (MA and Ph.D.) is honored to have hosted this important event and made possible the publication of papers presented at this prestigious Journal.
