SUBSISTEMA FÍSICO-QUÍMICO: ANÁLISE DA POLUIÇÃO DO AR E HOSPITALIZAÇÕES POR DPOC
Abstract
O objetivo do trabalho foi analisar a influência dos elementos climáticos e da poluição do ar nas hospitalizações por doença pulmonar obstrutiva crônica (DPOC) na cidade de Ribeirão Preto/SP. Baseou-se no referencial proposto por Monteiro (1976) enfocando o subsistema físico-químico. Além disso, foram analisados dados dos elementos climáticos do período de 2002 a 2007 e dados das hospitalizações por DPOC com técnicas estatísticas descritivas e modelo de regressão. Foram representados espacialmente os casos da DPOC na cidade, no intuito de compreender as áreas de incidência e a realizou-se trabalho empírico com aplicação de 300 questionários nas áreas de maior acometimento da doença. Os resultados demonstraram o incremento dos casos nos meses do inverno. A diminuição da temperatura mínima a valores inferiores a 15°C e temperatura média inferior a 21,5°C aumentam o risco de hospitalizações, essas condições estão associadas a sistemas atmosféricos estáveis. O mapeamento dos casos revelou a maior ocorrência nas áreas com condições de alta vulnerabilidade socioambiental e por meio dos questionários verificou-se que a maioria dos moradores percebem os efeitos da poluição do ar sobre o processo saúde-doença. Neste contexto, comprovou-se que as hospitalizações por DPOC possuem estreita conexão com a produção social do clima urbano.
