Trajectories of cartography: from coloniality todecoloniality

This article seeks to show the trajectory of Cartography from coloniality to decoloniality, with the aim of discussing the role of cartographic activism against the project of the colonial world-system established in modernity to impose the domination of territory, being, knowledge and of power. In this sense, delving into the social history of Cartography, it is possible to notice how maps and mappings were naturalized to meet the interests of capitalism, erasing the knowledge and territorial practices of subalternized peoples. Against this, since the 1980s, plural perspectives have arisen, which from the undisciplined Cartography by external agents and subalternized peoples, intend critical readings and social struggles in the territory. Thus, we will start from these reflections to seek alternatives that radicalize and strengthen the know-how of subalternized peoples.Keywords:Modern Cartography. Indiscipline. Subalternized Peoples
