SIMULAÇÃO DAS MUDANÇAS DE USO E OCUPAÇÃO DO SOLO E SEUS EFEITOS NAS CARACTERÍSTICAS HIDROSSEDIMENTOLÓGICAS EM UMA BACIA DO BIOMA CAATINGA

Este trabalho aplicou o modelo Soil and Water Assessment Tool (SWAT) para analisar a influência das mudanças do uso do solo no escoamento superficial e na produção de sedimentos, em uma bacia hidrográfica do bioma caatinga no Nordeste do Brasil. Este estudo consistiu em: (a) mapeamento do uso do solo para 1984 e 2015, (b) calibração do escoamento superficial; e (c) simulação do escoamento superficial e produção de sedimentos a partir do cenário de uso do solo no ano de 2015. O modelo SWAT foi calibrado usando dados diários de precipitação e escoamento superficial de 1977 a 1978. Os dados de precipitação também foram utilizados na simulação dos processos hidrossedimentológicos para o cenário de 2015. Os resultados indicam um bom ajuste na calibração, com valor de Nash-Sutcliffe = 0,85 e R² = 0,89. Para o escoamento superficial, o valor médio observado foi de 0,360 m³/s (com uso do solo de 1984), e 0,854 m³/s (com uso do solo de 2015). Para a produção de sedimentos, o valor estimado para 1984 (período de calibração) foi de 0,34 ton/ha.ano, enquanto para 2015 foi de 1,34 ton/ha.ano. Esses resultados mostram que mudanças futuras podem ter um significante impacto no escoamento superficial e na produção de sedimentos.
