PRECARIZAÇÃO DO TRABALHO NOS PROCESSOS DE PRODUÇÃO TÊXTIL E A FORMAÇÃO DE ESPAÇOS LIMINARES EM TORITAMA, PERNAMBUCO
Abstract
A experiência produtiva de Toritama, município do agreste pernambucano, uma iniciativa de desenvolvimento local por meio da indústria têxtil, apresenta-se como um exemplo das transformações contemporâneas do mundo do trabalho. Os processos de produção têxtil, os quais em Toritama mostram características de trabalho autônomo e precário, determinam uma formação de espaços geográficos “liminares”, lugares onde coexistem os mundos do trabalho e da moradia, de produção e de reprodução da força de trabalho. Assim, a dinâmica sócio-espacial derivada da atividade produtiva dificulta o tratamento funcional da cidade, na perspectiva tradicional de planejamento por meio de zonas de uso rígidas. Além disso, a produção especializada na confecção de jeans acarreta problemas ambientais, notadamente de poluição hídrica, os quais tornam ainda mais complexas as resoluções dos problemas sociais, pela necessidade de inclusão de aspectos naturais nas perspectivas de planejamento urbano-regional.Downloads
