IDENTIFICAÇÃO DE PALEOCANAIS NA BACIA AMAZÔNICA A PARTIR DE DADOS DE SENSORIAMENTO REMOTO
Abstract
A reconstituição paleogeográfica dos sistemas de drenagem é fundamental na identificação e compreensão de variáveis (p.e., clima, relevo, solo, litologia, tectônica, vegetação, nível do mar) que conduziram sua evolução, principalmente na Era Cenozóica. A identificação de feições como paleocanais pode auxiliar nesta complexa tarefa de reconstituição da evolução de sistemas fluviais. Diferentes dados de sensoriamento remoto e técnicas de processamento digital de imagens podem dinamizar esta tarefa, principalmente na Amazônia, onde a dimensão da área e o restrito acesso dificultam estudos desse caráter. Neste sentido, o objetivo deste trabalho é utilizar diferentes dados de sensoriamento remoto e técnicas de processamento digital de imagens para identificar paleocanais e demais feições fluviais no ambiente amazônico. Este trabalho baseia-se no processamento digital e análise de imagens Landsat-5/TM, de modelos digitais de elevação (MDE) provenientes da SRTM e de imagens do radar PALSAR. Os resultados indicam que as imagens de radar provenientes do sensor PALSAR em polarização HH foram eficientes na distinção e delimitação das áreas de planície de inundação. Já a identificação dos paleocanais obteve melhor resultado na polarização HV. Os resultados obtidos pelo processamento dos MDE-SRTM revelaram demais paleocanais que estavam ocultos e/ou mascarados dado à densa cobertura vegetal.Downloads
