VARIABILIDADE PLUVIOMÉTRICA DO BRASIL ASSOCIADA À OSCILAÇÃO DA PRESSÃO EM TAHITI
Abstract
O objetivo deste estudo foi analisar a influência do oceano Pacífico Tropical sul na pluviometria do Brasil. E para esse propósito, foi utilizado um conjunto de dados de reanálise do NCEP/NCAR de pressão ao nível médio do mar (PNMM) e taxa de precipitação (TP), para um período que compreende duas fases da Oscilação Decadal do Pacífico (ODP), uma fase fria (1948-1976) e outra quente (1977-1998). Primeiramente, foi construída uma série temporal do índice de PNMM padronizado de Tahiti (IPPT), que foi correlacionado com TP sobre o Brasil. O software GrADS foi usado para confeccionar os mapas de coeficientes de correlação entre o IPPT e TP. A correlação espacial foi feita para TP em cada fase (fria e quente) da ODP separadamente. O resultado mostrou valores de coeficiente de correlação entre o IPPT e a TP variando de 0,3 a 0,5, com nível de significância de até 99%, para o nordeste da Amazônia e o leste do Nordeste do Brasil. De maneira geral, o coeficiente de correlação apresentou valores mais elevados durante a fase fria da ODP. E o IPPT teve um desempenho melhor que o IOS também na fase fria com relação à TP sobre o Brasil. Correlações adiantadas de até 5 meses também foram feitas, com relação ao IPPT e os resultados sugere que o IPPT é um bom previsor da TP com até 5 meses de antecedência, particularmente sobre o nordeste da Amazônia.
