APLICAÇÃO DA TEORIA DA ENTROPIA NO ESTUDO DA PRECIPITAÇÃO PLUVIAL EM TERESINA-PI
Abstract
A cidade de Teresina-PI está localizada na parte norte do estado e sua faixa de precipitação está na área de transição entre cerrado e cerradão, caracterizados por clima AW segundo Köppen. A região pesquisada apresenta alta variabilidade espaço-temporal das chuvas. Este trabalho objetiva analisar separadamente a série pluviométrica (1930-2010) de Teresina-PI para se avaliar algumas estatísticas básicas através da teoria da entropia que é capaz de produzir padrões espaciais que possibilitam compreender melhor as características das chuvas na área estudada. O desvio-padrão da entropia anual varia uniformemente aos valores de entropia, mostrando com isso uma pequena oscilação de seus dados em torno dos valores médios. A técnica da entropia constitui uma ferramenta apropriada para expressar a variabilidade dos dados em torno da média, ao invés da técnica convencional do desvio-padrão. A variabilidade dos padrões de ocorrência de precipitação no município de Teresina é maior nos períodos de La Niña do que nos períodos de EL Niño, com valores de entropia anual oscilando entre 2,68 bits (mínimo) e 6,47 bits (máximo), com um valor médio de 5,39 bits.Downloads
