ANÁLISE RÍTMICA APLICADA AO ESTUDO DA QUALIDADE DO AR EM REGIÕES METROPOLITANAS.
Abstract
Há quatro décadas o estudo do clima urbano foi sistematizado no Brasil por Carlos Augusto de Figueiredo Monteiro. No interior desta sistematização, a qualidade do ar corresponde a uma das dimensões analíticas que compõem uma abordagem simultaneamente dinâmica e de síntese. Baseados nestas premissas teóricas, na noção de clima como sucessão habitual de tipos de tempo e na técnica de análise rítmica, oferecemos uma proposta metodológica para o estudo da poluição do ar por veículos automotores em zonas metropolitanas. Além dos resultados apresentados para o caso que serve de exemplo na Região Metropolitana de São Paulo, cremos ser esta uma atividade de potencial pedagógico orientada aos recém e futuros geógrafos para exercitar uma visão vinculante, processual e sintética aplicada ao entendimento de eventos complexos, tais como episódios de elevada poluição do ar.
