Flood occurrences are directly linked to the relief of the location where the process occurs. From this perspective, the analysis of areas with greater susceptibility to flooding is of utmost importance as it helps public authorities to make the best decision. In this sense, this work aims to carry out the zoning of susceptibility to hydrological flood processes in the municipality of Candelária, RS. To carry out this work, a weighted analysis was carried out to determine weights and scores for different parameters. The parameters defined for the analysis are Euclidean Distance from the Drainage network, Slope, Hypsometry, and Relief elements. To generate the susceptibility map, the raster calculator tool was used, where the parameters were multiplied by the weights and susceptibility scores, determining the classes: non-susceptible, low susceptibility, medium susceptibility, and high susceptibility. The class called High susceptibility represents around 23.33% of the municipality's area. In the urban perimeter of Candelária, areas close to the Pardo River were identified, which present high susceptibility in addition to the main streams that cross the urban area called Molha Grande and Molha Pequeno. It was observed that the methodology is suitable for the preliminary delimitation of areas susceptible to flooding in the municipality of Candelária, and has great potential to be used in the planning and ordering of the municipality.
