Abstract

A agricultura, e em especial a pequena produção agrícola, longe de se ser um setor secundário na assim chamada economia pós-moderna, neoliberal, técnica-científica-informacional, faz parte imprescindível da sua engrenagem. Todavia, como um setor autosubsistente, ou marginal no processo de acumulação, mas nó de uma rede no sistema produtivo do capitalismo global. Este artigo tenta mostrar como o cultivo do algodão colorido, espécie rústica trabalhada em laboratório, através de técnicas sofisticadas pelo Estado, é difundido no interior da Paraíba para cultivo em pequenas propriedades familiares e vendido para novos nichos pós-modernos de lojas de artigos oriundos de produtos orgânicos.
