AUTO-SEGREGAÇÃO NO ESPAÇO PERIFÉRICO ENTRE RECIFE E OLINDA

Abstract

Este artigo enfoca a desigualdade indicadora do processo de segregação que teve uma história longa no espaço periférico entre Recife e Olinda. Com as grandes intervenções, a partir da década de 1970, incluindo a abertura de avenidas e construção de vias expressas, o território foi equipado para servir de substrato à implantação dos empreendimentos ligados ao processo de mundialização e reestruturação das economias urbanas, quando uma nova ordem espacial se estabelece de fato. A consolidação dos grandes empreendimentos lançados aponta, nessa ocasião, para a valorização da área e dos futuros lançamentos imobiliários empresariais mudando o estigma periférico e introduzindo a auto-segregação.
