CONTRIBUIÇÃO À ANÁLISE GEOMORFOLÓGICA DOS DEPÓSITOS DE CACIMBAS NA ÁREA DE FAZENDA NOVA, BREJO DA MADRE DE DEUS – PE
Abstract
O município de Brejo da Madre de Deus apresenta o maior número de ocorrências de depósitos de tanques com megafauna registradas no Estado de Pernambuco. O trabalho teve como objetivo colaborar com o estudo geomorfológico na região de Fazenda Nova e adjacências, com enfoque na Fazenda Logradouro, localidade Incó, Para tanto, foram realizados mapeamento das ocorrências de depósitos de tanques fossilíferos e descrição de uma seção estratigráfica. De onze localidades cadastradas, quatro são novas ocorrências, estando elas preferencialmente associadas a granito pórfiro em zona de intercessão de linhas de fraturas. Os depósitos encontram-se distribuídos entre áreas com ocorrências de inselbergs à pedimentos intermontanos. A seção estratigráfica demonstrou que o depósito possui três fases distintas de preenchimentos por fluxos de detritos, estando os fósseis concentrados na camada intermediária. Sendo assim, o registro das ocorrências geomorfológicas associadas aos depósitos fossilíferos de mamíferos pleistocênicos no Município de Brejo da Madre de Deus visa colaborar com o estudo do Neógeno continental no estado de Pernambuco, contribuindo para a elucidação da dinâmica da paisagem semi-árida no Nordeste do Brasil.Downloads
