ASSOCIAÇÕES ENTRE ESPÉCIES HERBÁCEAS EM UMA ÁREA DE CAATINGA DE PERNAMBUCO
Abstract
A identificação de associações entre espécies herbáceas em uma área de caatinga, visando contribuir sobre o conhecimento das características ecológicas do componente herbáceo do bioma, foi realizada na Estação Experimental de Pesquisa Agropecuária–IPA, em Caruaru-PE. Parcelas foram distribuídas entre microhabitats plano, rochoso e ciliar; todas as espécies herbáceas presentes nas parcelas foram identificadas taxonomicamente e a freqüência de ocorrência foi quantificada. Uma matriz de combinação espécie-espécie foi produzida para o cálculo dos coeficientes de associações entre as espécies. Um total de 62 espécies herbáceas foi registrado: 35 no microhabitat plano, 36 no ciliar e 51 no rochoso. Das 53 espécies amostradas, 12 foram exclusivas em cada microhabitat e 16 foram comuns aos três microhabitats. Apenas 18% das combinações de espécies apresentaram associações significativas. Nenhuma associação foi totalmente nula, mas a intensidade das associações negativa foi fraca. Associações de intensidade medianas e fortes foram mais freqüentes quando positivas. Do ponto de vista estatístico ocorrem correlações entre espécies herbáceas na vegetação. Entretanto, o sentido biológico das mesmas não pode ser explicado apenas com as informações coletadas neste estudo, sendo necessário o desenvolvimento de mais investigações para testar a independência ou dependência biológica das associações entre as espécies.Downloads
