O TURISMO NA CONTEMPORANEIDADE: ALGUMAS CONSIDERAÇÕES A PARTIR DE UMA PERSPECTIVA GEOGRÁFICA
Abstract
O escrito ora apresentado visa tecer algumas considerações acerca das características assumidas pelo turismo na contemporaneidade, admitindo que atualmente a prática exerça fundamental importância como meio de acumulação capitalista em boa parte dos lugares do mundo. Para tanto, a opção metodológica adotada leva à dissecação de três aspectos de análise, sendo (a) um debate acerca da passagem do regime fordista para a acumulação flexível dentro de um contexto espaço-temporal; (b) apresentar as características de tal transformação do capitalismo na perspectiva de compreensão das conseqüências deste processo na prática turística; e, por fim; (c) uma tentativa de principiar uma discussão em busca de caminhos para a compreensão das tão profundas transformações pelas quais o turismo passa diante das demandas introduzidas pelo novo quadro da realidade a partir de uma perspectiva geográfica.
