MAPEAMENTO DAS UNIDADES DO RELEVO DA SERRA DO CARAÇA/MG: UMA PROPOSTA BASEADA NA INTERPRETAÇÃO DE MAPAS TEMÁTICOS
Abstract
Este artigo tem como objetivo a identificação e o mapeamento das unidades de relevo da Serra do Caraça - Quadrilátero Ferrífero/MG. O parâmetro taxonômico são as feições do modelado. A pesquisa se justifica pela importância ambiental da área, comprovada pela existência de Reserva Particular do Patrimônio Natural (RPPN) localizada no topo da Serra do Caraça e pelas pressões que vem sofrendo pela atividade antrópica - proliferação de chácaras, pousadas e, sobretudo, atividades minerárias. Ao final do mapeamento foi possível compartimentar a região em diversas unidades entre cristas ou depressão. Esta divisão teve por controle a litoestrutura, visto que a evolução do relevo regional obedece, principalmente, controles litológicos ou estruturais.Downloads
