COMPORTAMENTO DE ELEMENTOS QUÍMICOS EM AMBIENTE SUPERGÊNICO E PEDOGÊNESE - PARQUE MUNICIPAL DAS MANGABEIRAS, QUADRILÁTERO FERRÍFERO (MG)

Abstract

O presente artigo tem como objetivo caracterizar a mineralogia e discutir o comportamento de elementos químicos de um perfil de solo situado em posição de alta vertente, no Parque das Mangabeiras (Belo Horizonte-MG), sobre filitos dolomíticos da Formação Gandarela (Quadrilátero Ferrífero). Buscou-se, ainda, discutir aspectos da gênese do solo estudado. Para este fim, foram coletadas 8 amostras dos horizontes do solum e da rocha pouco intemperizada em diferentes profundidades em uma trincheira. As análises de química total foram feitas por fluorescência de raios-X, em laboratório do CDTN-UFMG. Os dados foram discutidos em conjunto com informações já disponíveis sobre a vertente estudada. Observou-se que os principais elementos químicos no perfil são o Si, o Al e o Fe. Há ainda pequenas quantidades de Ca, Mg e K, além de Ti e Zr. Não há indicação de concentração dos elementos considerados menos móveis (Zr, Ti, Al) nos horizontes pedológicos do perfil se comparados com a rocha pouco alterada. Isso sugere que se trata de um solo jovem, apesar da topografia pouco acidentada e da posição próxima ao topo da vertente.
