INFLUÊNCIA DE MACROASPECTOS AMBIENTAIS NA PRODUÇÃO DE SAL MARINHO NO LITORAL SEMIÁRIDO DO BRASIL
Abstract
As salinas solares atualmente representam uma das unidades mais presentes na paisagem encontrada nas margens dos estuários situados no litortal semiárido brasileiro (Ceará e Rio Grande do Norte), onde o seu funcionamento está expressamente relacionado com a variável espacial. Todavia, ao longo da linha de costa brasileira (aproximadamente 9.198 km), apenas no litoral setentrional do Estado do Rio Grande do Norte estão situadas as maiores empresas salineiras do país, principalmente nas margens dos seus estuários. Estas salinas produzem 97% do sal marinho consumido e exportado no país, influenciando diretamente nas economias locais e regionais, principalmente através da geração de empregos e pagamento de impostos. Todavia, embora a atividade salineira represente um item estratégico na pauta mineral-industrial do país, evidencia-se a necessidade de se destacar quais os macroaspectos geográficos/ambientais que influenciaram na atual configuração dos parques salineiros do Rio Grande do Norte. Dessa maneira, o presente trabalho teve como objetivo central analisar a influência dos principais macroaspectos ambientais (geomorfologia, solos e clima) no processo de produção de sal marinho no litoral semiárido do Brasil. Tais elementos estão denominados como macroaspectos em função da ampla abrangência do território e até mesmo de subfatores a eles relacionados, porém determinados apenas em uma escala local. Verificou-se a necessidade em se analisar primeiramente o relevo como elemento de suporte para a construção das salinas nas zonas de supramarés em planícies flúviomarinhas. Porém, aos aspectos geomorfológicos, agregam-se informações sobre as características pedológicas (Gleissolo sálico) e climáticas (semiárido) que, dessa forma, propiciam uma compreensão da conjuntura e sinergismo de fatores que proporcionam a elevada produção de sal marinho na área analisada. Dessa maneira, conclui-se que os macroaspectos ambientais analisados influenciam diretamente no processo de produção de sal marinho no litoral semiárido do Brasil, os quais são em parte responsáveis pela sua hegenomia no cenário nacional de produção.Downloads
