LES RELATIONS VILLE-PORT SOUS LE PRISME DU TOURISME DE CROISIÈRE : LE CAS DU BRÉSIL
Abstract
L’industrie du tourisme de croisière est en pleine expansion au niveau international en intégrant de nouvelles régions du Monde jusqu’alors très peu concernées. C’est le cas notamment en Asie du sud-est et en Amérique latine où de nombreux pays développent des stratégies pour renforcer ces tendances afin de répondre aux acteurs de cette industrie, encore très largement nord-américains.
Dans cet article, nous nous intéresserons plus particulièrement au cas du Brésil qui depuis un peu plus d’une décennie connaît une expansion importante du secteur. Celle-ci se traduit par une offre et une présence croissance de quelques opérateurs internationaux pour répondre à la demande des touristes brésiliens qui découvrent avec avidité cette modalité de vacances. Les pouvoirs publics ont perçu l’importance du soutien de cette activité : l’arrivée des navires de croisières dans les ports urbains brésiliens leur permet de formuler de nouveaux projets urbanistiques dans des quartiers très souvent décadents et répulsifs.
Trois éléments seront ici analysés : Un bref historique et l’état actuel du marché dans le monde et au Brésil, la formulation de nouvelles stratégies des pouvoirs publics et des acteurs privés dans des espaces urbains centraux et décadents, enfin, les nouvelles relations qui émergent de la production de nouveaux espaces urbains à vocation touristique au sein des villes portuaires au Brésil.
