Análise do Índice de Vegetação por Diferença Normalizada (NDVI) na bacia hidrográfica do córrego do Cedro, município de Presidente Prudente, SP, Brasil

A utilização do sensoriamento remoto como ferramenta para a obtenção de informações ambientais tem crescido nas últimas décadas, atrelada a melhorias nas técnicas e procedimentos adotados, que permitem a obtenção de resultados cada vez mais próximos da realidade. Neste contexto, o Índice de Vegetação por Diferença Normalizada (Normalized Difference Vegetation Index - NDVI) trouxe importantes contribuições aos estudos ambientais, em especial, aos estudos sobre a vegetação e sua degradação pelas atividades antrópicas em áreas rurais e urbanas. O presente estudo buscou aplicar o referido índice na bacia hidrográfica do córrego do Cedro, situada no município de Presidente Prudente (SP), utilizando como recorte temporal os anos de 1997 e 2017. Para a identificação das transformações ocorridas na vegetação da referida área de estudo, o NDVI foi calculado utilizando imagens do sensor TM/Landsat-5 para o ano de 1997, e do sensor OLI/Landsat-8 para o ano de 2017. Os resultados obtidos atestam a redução da área vegetada na referida bacia, atrelada à expansão das áreas destinadas à urbanização e às atividades agropecuárias.
