Geographical analysis of microurban territories in Barreiras-BA: from local reality to social demand

This research carries out a superficial analysis butprovides significant information about the social reality found in urban micro territoriesstudied in the city of Barreiras-BA. To do so, it is assumed that, tounderstand local reality, it is necessary to analyze social demands in small spaces, or rather, in micro territories, whose representative scale in this work is neighborhoods. In this sense, what we call micro territorieshere are someneighborhoods in the city and their social demands, which are translated into the availability of certain basic services such as: health, education, infrastructure, and basic sanitation. However, only the spaces selected for this research are cited in this work. Therefore, the proposal is to give visibility to the demands and needs of these spaces according to the greater or lesser availability of the services previously highlighted. The work brings an analysis of the reality found in the researched areas, thus, the absence of basic services to the local population can signal problems and inconveniences, whether in the central or peripheral areas of the city. From the survey of this information,it was possible to better understand the vulnerabilities and fragilities of central and peripheral micro territories.
