Abstract
Esta resenha objetiva demarcar a contribuição da obra Terra, trabalho e poder: conflitos e lutas sociais no Maranhão contemporâneo, do Professor Marcelo Sampaio Carneiro (2013). Diante da problemática fundiária e da luta pela terra no Maranhão, questões ligadas a patronagem e ao modelo agrícola exportador de commodities, a ação camponesa se escreve com embates políticos e estruturação de uma gramática da luta. Com debates teóricos e pesquisas empíricas, o livro traz a produção do conhecimento sendo desenvolvido em parcerias com movimentos sociais e pesquisadores em diversos níveis, na direção questionadora do Maranhão contemporâneo.
