Interference of the progress of urbanization in the hydrogeomorphological system in Córrego Cercadinho Basin, Belo Horizonte, MG

The modifications of land use and occupation, intensified from the processes of urban expansion, associated with soil sealing, vegetation suppression, changes in the drainage cycle and occupation of environmental protection areas, are some of the aspects with potential for negative environmental impacts. In this context, this research proposed to analyze the interferences of the advance of urbanization in the alteration of forms, surface materials and implications in the hydro geomorphological systems of the Córrego Cercadinho basin, Belo Horizonte – MG, through the elaboration of thematic maps, morphometric analysis and analysis of hydrogeomorphological alteration parameters. According to the data obtained, the basin does not have the potential for flooding, requiring in-depth analyzes to identify the source of the occasional floods. The anthropic interferences coming from the process of urban expansion are an indication for this phenomenon.
