INFLUÊNCIA DO USO E OCUPAÇÃO DO SOLO NA PRODUÇÃO DE SEDIMENTOS NA BACIA DO RIO JACARECICA
Abstract
Os processos de erosão acelerada pela urbanização não planejada, provocada pelo crescimento desordenado das cidades, podem causar sérios problemas relacionados ao transporte de sedimentos em rios. Quanto melhor o entendimento dos mecanismos de transporte e a avaliação da carga de sedimentos transportados, maior a chance de um diagnóstico eficaz para a solução ou mitigação de problemas associados à deposição de sedimentos. Este artigo apresenta os resultados referentes à análise de material sólido presente na bacia do rio Jacarecica, durante o ano de 2010, bacia essa em processo de urbanização com 24,5 Km² de área, localizado na cidade de Maceió-AL. Foram realizadas campanhas de amostragem e análises em laboratório para a determinação das concentrações de sedimentos em suspensão em seu curso de água, associado aos usos e cobertura do solo. Os resultados mostram que a concentração de sedimentos em suspensão está diretamente ligada aos usos na bacia, com as áreas urbanizadas apresentando maior contribuição de sedimentos no rio, com valores na ordem de até 0,70 mg/L.
