ODORES DAS ENTIDADES: ESPACIALIDADE CULTURAL RELIGIOSA DA UMBANDA
Abstract
O presente artigo aborda o estudo sobre espacialidade cultural religiosa e a sua relação com a Umbanda, apresentando como recorte espacial a Cidade do Rio Grande/RS. O objetivo do estudo consiste no diálogo geográfico, pautado na exposição que, permitiu pressupostos para análise dos símbolos e suas espacialidades para compreensão das manifestações “humanas e sociais” no lugar onde é cultivada a sacralidade religiosa. Deste modo, o estudo justifica-se na Geografia que visa “discutir” a afinidade do homem com o ambiente, salientando o que traz de subjetivo na sua relação com o espaço - que é a cultura - na forma de interpretar as interações do “Ente” com espaço e com o próprio homem e seus símbolos. Para isto, a reflexão apresenta-se sobre a relação entre o mundo material e o plano imaterial como modo de compreender geograficamente a espacialidade através da religião da Umbanda, e os espaços sacralizados, ou a serem sacralizados pelos odores que junto à relação social, constroem a manifestação religiosa, ou seja, o lugar que “transcende” o mundo material. Assim, os odores nas representações espaciais religiosas e culturais através da Umbanda salientam o limiar que envolve o indivíduo ou grupo religioso a religiosidade.Downloads
