EDIFICAÇÕES NA CIDADE DE CARUARU – PE: CONDOMÍNIOS FECHADOS E AUTOCONSTRUÇÕES

Abstract

Graças ao crescimento vegetativo e à migração, o município de Caruaru contabilizou mais de 250 mil habitantes no último recenseamento. Obtendo altos percentuais de crescimento demográfico, os problemas habitacionais se agravam, já que os poderes públicos não conseguem dar respostas para a constante necessidade de abrigo seguro para as pessoas. Nos últimos anos, presenciamos a construção de altos edifícios que são ocupados pela classe alta da cidade. Mas, duas situações chamam mais a atenção, na atualidade: os condomínios fechados, onde a classe média busca abrigo e segurança, e as construções realizadas pelos próprios donos de terrenos em diversos loteamentos espalhados pelo município. Este trabalho se propõe a abrir a discussão sobre os tipos de habitação no município de Caruaru, analisando as aspirações e condições econômicas de seus ocupantes.
